Well clearly he has options, it’s a matter of shopping those options and finding the best fit. You can’t tell me there are not teams interested in at least a few of the movable assets the Wild have. Sure, most of what Fenton has to work with are not grade A pieces, but he’s got a a few that should give a decent return. I just hope he’s not looking for some unattainable mega deal. It’s just time to face the facts that this roster needs a whole sale change ASAP

He knew the Wild player situation when he accepted the job, now poop or get off the pot please!

Wait no more. I like the move for aberg. Low risk move with a potentially good payoff. Plus, he fits a need as a right shot winger.

You have 3.5ish in cap space, with all you're UFA's due for a raise.... What can the guy do? I think if possible, you attempt to move Suter to the jets for Trouba. Trouba is a massively over-hyped talent, with a career high 33 points after 5 seasons, on pace for 36 this year, but skates like a gazel, and age is on his side. Suter brings everything the Jets need to win a cup. Trouba has long-been over demanding in contract talks and stated he wants to play in the US. I say win-win. Jets are better today, and Minnie sheds some cap and gains some youth. Other than that, your GM really cant do a tonne.

Highly doubt Suter would waive his NTC to go to Winnipeg.

So I am wondering if this was a move to also save cap space. I am thinking that Kloos was very close to coming up to the big club. But getting Aberg save $70k. Wow, I am just reaching for air there.

What does anyone know about Aberg? Does he have jets...can he shoot...is he a play-maker? I'm not really surprised by this move, as he is a Fenton guy. I'm reading this as just a player that is just a little more seasoned then Kloos is. And a tad bit more size. Same age though, so that should be the bonus.

Hopefully, this is the start of a lot more to come. At first I was thinking "great, another LW (like having Zucker, Parise, Nino, Greenway and Foligno weren't enough), but then I realized he is a right handed shot. Finally, at least an attempt to get something the Wild need. Baby steps I guess, huh? Hopefully, this move for tonight's game will be to have Nino in the pressbox and Aberg take his place in the lineup. I think tonight is the time to reunite the Zucker/Staal/Granlund line. Keep Parise/Coyle/Kunin together. Let Koivu be a team leader and play with a rookie and a new teammate, in Greenway and Aberg.

Fenton drafted him in the second round back in 2012. 37th overall. The little bit i've been reading about him doesn't really give me any high hopes that he will ever be anything more than a bottom 6 player. Kloos on the other hand was still fairly untapped as far as potential.

From what i've seen of Kloos, he seems to have more offensive potential, but gaining the right handed shot of Aberg is a win for the Wild. Hard to really tell being he's been traded twice and put on waivers once in his short career.

All in all it seems like nothing but window dressing to me, Fenton is under major pressure to start making moves so now he's made one. Nothing to get too excited about IMO. Not yet anyway
